I took a day trip to Roswell, GA and it has to be one of my favorite escapes near Atlanta. I tThere are so many gorgeous nature trails and scenic spots tucked close to the city! I have so many clients from Roswell that live in neighborhoods like Martin’s Landing, Horseshoe Bend, and Brookfield Country Club!

Here is a recent newborn session for a family from Roswell, and a family photoshoot at Roswell Mill Vickery Creek Park! And I loved this maternity photoshoot for a Roswell family. I photograph the sweetest families!

It was a sunny day, and I started my morning with a quiet walk around Roswell Mill.

I photographed the Roswell Mill entrance sign and the red building with its tall windows and little bell tower before continuing my walk.

I could sit and listen to the water running along Vickery Creek all day long. Near the falls, it’s hard to imagine you’re so close to the city. These quiet little spots are always the ones I’m drawn to.

Next, I headed downtown and wandered along Canton Street. Restaurant patios, brick buildings, and leafy sidewalks made it easy to take my time.

I photographed the view past 1920 Tavern, then the bright red Mac McGee building beside Vinings Gallery on Canton.

The smell of food drifting through the street made me want to stop for a bite at one of the local taverns or pubs. Choosing would have been nearly impossible because there were sooo many options! The pink flowers outside Canton St. Social caught my eye, too.

I also stopped at Barrington Hall. Its historical marker identifies it as the Greek Revival home of Barrington King, dating to around 1842.

From another angle, I could include the garden path, orange flowers, and small brick building beside the house.
