I could spend a whole afternoon with my family at Marietta Square. Historic storefronts, restaurant patios, and the Strand Theatre surround Glover Park right in the middle of the Square. I love its cast iron fountain, white gazebo, and seasonal flowers as backdrops for family photos. I have clients from Marietta that live in neighborhoods like Kennesaw Avenue, Whitlock Avenue, and Forest Hills! They’re always telling me how much they enjoy the parks and trails of West Cobb, with more to explore throughout Cobb County.

My idea of a morning downtown starts with coffee at Cool Beans Coffee Roasters and a stroll around the shops. If we have little ones along, Glover Park’s train playground makes a fun stop. Concerts and festivals give us more reasons to visit throughout the year. As a photographer, I love having greenery and historic brick within a short walk of each other.

At Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, I’m drawn to the wooded trails, open fields, and mountain views. Around Cheatham Hill and the Illinois Monument, grassy landscapes and paths beneath mature trees offer beautiful settings for maternity and family portraits. If we’re making a family morning of it, I’d add breakfast or lunch at Basecamp at the foot of Kennesaw Mountain! Here's a recap of our day trip to Marietta, GA!

And I can’t leave out the Big Chicken on top of the KFC on Cobb Parkway! That giant roadside chicken always makes me smile. Between the Square, the mountain, and the neighborhood parks, we have plenty of options for your photoshoot.
