My Day Trip to Marietta, Georgia!

With so many clients from Marietta, I wanted to spend a day exploring their city! Come along for a visit with me!

I took a day trip to Marietta, GA since I have so many clients from there! I have clients from Marietta that live in neighborhoods like Kennesaw Avenue, Whitlock Avenue, and Forest Hills!

Here is a recent newborn session for a family from Marietta, and a family photoshoot at Kennesaw Mountain! And I loved this maternity photoshoot for a Marietta family. I photograph the sweetest families!

My day trip to Marietta, GA, didn’t quite start as planned! I headed to Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park hoping to explore, but an event had the streets lined with cars and the road to the top blocked off. I could only get as far as the visitor center, so I turned around and headed to Marietta Square instead.

After all that traffic, I was surprised by how peaceful the Square felt. There were kids playing around the fountain, moms pushing babies in strollers, and businesspeople in suits heading to lunch. Even in the middle of the week, there was plenty going on.

Glover Park at Marietta Square

Glover Park sits right in the center of Marietta Square. I photographed the cast iron fountain framed by leafy trees and American flags, then stopped for a closer look at the white gazebo. Its green roof and surrounding gardens made such a pretty little scene.

Alexander Stephens Clay Statue

I also photographed the Alexander Stephens Clay statue, standing on its tall stone pedestal beneath the trees. Walking around with my camera gave me time to notice these smaller details.

From the park, I wandered along the surrounding streets. I loved the brick storefronts, shaded sidewalks, and restaurant patios. Outside Mac’s Raw Bar & Market, rows of tables and umbrellas looked ready for the lunch crowd.

Another photo shows the tree-lined stretch of businesses, including ice cream, cheesecake, and coffee shops. There were plenty of reasons to take my time on this walk!

Ending My Trip at the Famous KFC Big Chicken in Marietta, GA

Before heading home, I made my way to the Big Chicken on Cobb Parkway. It always gives me a good giggle! Those enormous eyes and that yellow beak towering over the KFC are hard to miss.

I took both a wider photo of the building and a closer view of the chicken. My mountain visit may have been cut short, but I wasn’t leaving Marietta without these two pictures!
